Royal Leamington Spa is a thriving and shining example of everything that was good about the Regency era.
Historically it was originally known as Leamington Priors and the big changes started to happen in 1784 when the then inhabitants started to exploit the now famous saline springs.
Some 25 years later in 1810, plans were made to build a bathing establishment on a scale that surpassed anything yet attempted and when a new spring was discovered on the north bank of the River Leam, the building of the original Royal Pump Room began.
Today, the restored Royal Pump Room is also home to the town’s museum and art gallery, plus the new Tea Room. Quality shops in the town range from the award winning Royal Priors shopping centre to lots of more individual shops specialising in everything from chocolates to cotton.
The historic Royal Pump Rooms is a truly magnificent destination, perfectly suited to a wide range of events.
