Royal Leamington Spa is a thriving and shining example of everything that was good about the Regency era.
Historically it was originally known as Leamington Priors and the big changes started to happen in 1784 when the then inhabitants started to exploit the now famous saline springs.
Some 25 years later in 1810, plans were made to build a bathing establishment on a scale that surpassed anything yet attempted and when a new spring was discovered on the north bank of the River Leam, the building of the original Royal Pump Room began.
Sitting in the heart of England, Royal Leamington Spa has emerged as a fashionable town with Georgian and Victorian architecture, tree lined Avenues and Squares and glorious gardens. Leamington has a deservedly good reputation for shopping and is easily accessed from all parts of the country by both road and rail.
