Down Hall is one of England’s most established country house hotels.

Situated on the Hertfordshire and Essex border, in a beautiful village named Hatfield Heath, Down Hall is surrounded by 110 acres of parkland and landscaped gardens.

On approach via a winding and impressive drive, you are greeted by a stunning honey coloured Italianate mansion with a beautifully decorated Romanesque facade. The front entrance of which leads into a grand interior, shows off the high ornate ceilings, natural light and picturesque views of the gardens, typically characteristic of a building of that era.

Dating back to 1322, when records show it to have had a monastery on site, Down Hall has a fascinating architectural history with different generations adding to and embellishing the building.

The ambience is warm and comfortable. Log fires, antiques, welcoming sofas, fine furnishings, wall tapestries and modern amenities create a contemporary home from home.

Whether it is business or pleasure, Down Hall provides the perfect backdrop for endless occasions from a relaxing weekend break, a corporate meeting or wedding ceremony.

Down Hall is located just 9 miles from Stansted Airport and 15 minutes from both the M11 and M25, central London is also just a short 30 minute train journey using the Stansted/London Express from nearby Bishops Stortford train station.
