Harpenden House is a beautiful Grade II listed Georgian town house with a rich history set in the country Market Town of Harpenden. At the beginning of the 19th Century it was used as a ‘School for young ladies’ and subsequently it has been a private house and a convent for the Dominican Sisters.
Harpenden House has been operating as a hotel since 1970 and many of the original period features remain, including a large 18th Century fireplace in the Welcombe lounge. The majority of bedrooms and meeting rooms are adjacent to the main house in the garden courtyard and Hertfordshire wing.
The Garden Suite
Newly refurbished in March 2007, this completely self-contained Banqueting Suite on the ground floor boasts its own private bar, lobby and cloakroom and is most suited to larger functions of up to 100-150 guests, depending on room layout. Alternatively, the Suite can be partitioned for smaller parties.
The Garden Suite is ideal for all kinds of occasions, particularly luncheons and dinners, or celebratory parties with finger buffets. For those functions requiring entertainment, why not take advantage of the dance floor and continue with your choice of band or disco.
