Englemere has been known as a place for occasion since Saxon times and was famous for hunting in the Tudor period. The first house on the site was built around 1817, with the present house being built at the end of the 19th Century.
It was home to Field Marshall Lord Roberts who was the Chief of Staff to Lord Kitchener and present at the relief of Mafeking. Around the turn of the century it was he who substantially rebuilt the house, which became the home of two of Queen Victoria’s grandchildren, Princess Helene and Marie Louise, during the war. The gardens, set in 12 acres, include a delightful formal garden and fountain.

A deposit payment of £ 15.00 per person is due on confirmation of booking.
The remaining balance is due 5 weeks prior to the event. In some instances, credit facilities may be available.
