Whisky Tasting
An entertaining, interactive and thoroughly enjoyable whisky tasting with more than a dram of humour.
Occasion
The focus of the tasting is not towards the whisky buff, or even those who normally drink it. Because rare, Single Cask, Single Malts are used, this format suits any occasion a wine tasting would, as the quality of these fine whiskies appeals to all.
Seated or Standing?
The tasting can be run with guests seated or standing, as a fully interactive sho w, or if you wish we can simply provide the tasting on stalls as a part of a reception.
Show Format
Your guests will be enthralled by their powers of perception after a ‘Virtual Tour of the Palete™’ and short briefing in the art and science of whisky nosing. With this humorous introduction our expert indicates the key nose and palate sensations that enable whisky experts to assess whiskies blind. Guests are then poured a range of fine Single Cask, Single Malt Whiskies; the objective being to discover their region, method of production and age, which guests do with consummate ease!
The emphasis of the challenge is more on the impression on the nose rather than palate so your guests leave the event fresh and more importantly able to remember the occasion! We suggest that wine is served for drinking purposes throughout the event.
Quiz & Other Interactive Elements
A quick-fire, group whisky quiz can be added between rounds. Questions based on the opening show are asked along with those submitted by the guests along the lines of ‘All they ever wanted to know but were afraid to ask’. Other light-hearted competitive elements are added, as deemed suitable for the event.
Summary
The challenge is not reliant on prior knowledge and our unique formula leaves guests with a new skill, though the emphasis is on humour, entertainment and developing a convivial atmosphere.
