Team Trebuchet
An action packed medieval team challenge where the planning is crucial. Teams must work together to earn ammunition for a medieval style catapult. They must then construct their “trebuchet” and find out how to achieve its optimum throw. At the final siege, teams then compete against each other in a fantastic finale!
Teams begin by completing a series of medieval-themed team building challenges. Tasks include translating Middle English language, completing giant chess puzzles and assembling their armies whilst incarcerated in the stocks!
To get the medieval theme in full swing, teams must then appoint a king and queen and make a suitable costume for them out of craft materials. They must also create a flag to depict their team, which will later be attached to their trebuchets.
For each challenge completed, teams “earn” ammunition. Therefore, the better their performance in the tasks, the more ammo they will have to use against the other teams in the final siege!
Once challenges are complete, teams must then decipher the ye olde building instructions to assemble their trebuchet. To achieve the best throwing distance they must experiment with different factors such as arm length, pivot position, counterweight and release angle.
Once built, they proudly display their team flags and intimidate their rivals by decreeing their superiority with some fighting talk. They must then use their best throwing technique to bombard their opponents’ castles in the battle of all battles!
Location Options
Team Trebuchet is held outdoors and can be run at a wide variety of locations across the UK.
