If you are looking for a corporate entertainment or team building activity with a difference, the Learn to Play Polo Experience could be the perfect answer!
Polo has always been synonymous with motivation, team work, communication and sheer determination. Very few participants have ever been on a polo pony before, let alone played a chukka, so this event provides for a unique and memorable day.
Unlike some other corporate activities, polo is a true team sport that relies on personal interaction. Personal fitness does not play a huge part in the success factor making this a perfect event for men and women, young or old.
Polo ponies are extremely obedient and all riding takes place in an enclosed, soft surfaced arena. All activities are supervised by a number of qualified instructors with safety being a high priority.
We can offer both half day and full day experiences depending on your requirements. These days usually take place in Berkshire but we can also offer them at a number of other venues around the country providing suitable land is available.
All days include refreshments such as morning refreshments, luncheon and afternoon tea depending on the package and timetable you choose.
Activities can include the following:
Short Sticks
Using short polo sticks, play a game on your feet to practice team tactics and positional plays.
Crates
Standing on a crate to practice the four shots and perfect your polo swing.
Theory
Discussion on team tactics, rules and set plays using a board and model men and horses.
Horses
Mounted on very quiet safe horses to practice initially riding then the hitting of the ball under instruction and close supervision.
Chukka Challenge
Everyone has the opportunity to play three chukkas under instruction. The team scoring the most goals wins. Guests will be divided into teams of three or four, with the addition of instructors.
Exhibition Match
Polo Club members and professional players play the game at full speed with refreshments served to the spectators throughout.
